Honorary Fishery Officers
The Ministry for Primary Industries is looking for Honorary Fishery Officers
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking self-motivated, confident, and disciplined people to assist the Ministry’s Compliance and Response team as Honorary Fishery Officers (HFO) in the Auckland area.
The primary objectives for the position involve;
• the delivery of education programmes where appropriate,
• liaison with other groups who use the fisheries resource, and

HFOs are the face of fisheries compliance and are integral to our education and voluntary compliance programmes. They are invaluable in protecting our fisheries, and are passionate, professional, and possess excellent local knowledge.
Please note that this is a rewarding voluntary role, not a paid position.
If you are interested in becoming an HFO please contact the MPI (formerly known as Ministry of Fisheries) Auckland office on (09) 820 1990 and request a position description and application form.
