Database Documentation: obs_lfs (decommissioned)

Since 2009, Information contained within the obs_lfs database has been incorporated into the Central Observer Database (cod).

The obs_lfs database contains comprehensive biological (eg. length frequency, weight, gonad stage) and non-fish bycatch information collected by Scientific Observers from trawl and bottom longline vessels.

The database contains observer catch effort information for bottom longline trips and also incorporates observer-collected data from the squid fishery, which was housed in the squid database until 2001.

Access to information contained within the obs_lfs database can be requested using the RDM@fish.govt.nz mailbox.
