The market database contains information (mainly length) from a representative sample of fish.

Biological data is collected by researchers after the catch has been unloaded to a fish processing facility or shed, prior to the catch being processed for market or sold.

Primarily this database contains biological information for snapper, hoki, paua, and red cod.

Other species represented include orange roughy, trevally, kahawai, freshwater eels, gemfish, bluenose, scallops, alfonsino, ruby fish, jack mackerels, black cardinal fish, English mackerel, grey mullet, red gurnard, kingfish, and tarakihi
