Other Services

The Ministry of Fisheries also purchases research from a budget called “Other Services”. Purchasing from this budget is at the discretion of the Ministry and can cover Expressions of Interest, Request for Proposals or research provider initiated research. The categories of research that fall within this budget are:

• Stock Assessment Processes; 
• Scientific Support for International Fishing Agreements; 
• Technical Input into Policy Advice; 
• Social, Cultural and Economic Research; and 
• Estimation of Maori Customary Harvest.
