Role of forum members

The forums are joint ventures between MFish and recreational fishers. Forum members therefore have an important role.

Some starting points for a discussion about the role of forum members are:

1. Work with MFish to create a meeting environment that encourages and allows everyone to participate

2. Nominate topics for discussion/education within the forums

3. Actively participate in discussions and education sessions

4. Actively share what is learnt at the forums with their organisations

5. Disseminate information on proposed fisheries management interventions to their organisations

6. Accurately report the viewpoints of their organisations

7. Identify local issues, in conjunction with their organisations

8. Encourage their organisations to participate.
