Challenger Fishery Management Area
The Challenger Fishery Management Area includes all those waters from Awarua Point (south of Haast) on the West Coast of the South Island to Clarence River on the East Coast of the South Island. The outer edge of the area is the 200 mile Exclusive Economic Zone, except through the area of Cook Strait where the Challenger Fishery Management Area extends approximately halfway across Cook Strait towards the North Island.
The Marlborough Sounds and Brothers Islands are included in the Challenger Fishery Management Area.
