This paper outlines the management process to address New Zealand sea lion interactions in the southern squid trawl fishery (SQU6T) during the 2004-05 fishing year. This process continues the use of a limit on fishing-related mortalities to constrain New Zealand sea lion deaths within the SQU6T fishery to a biologically acceptable level.
