Annual Report for the Year Ended 30 June 2005

OUR MISSION AND GOAL

Our mission is expressed by our Maori name, Te Tautiaki i nga tini a Tangaroa, which means to be the guardian of the multitudes of Tangaroa.

Our goal is to maximise the value New Zealanders obtain from the sustainable use of fisheries resources and protection of the aquatic environment.

Persuant to section 39 of the Public Finances Act 1989, I am pleased to present my Annual Report on the operations of the Ministry of Fisheries  for the year ended 30 June 2005.
