Ministry seeks water-space valuation model

The Ministry of Fisheries is in the process of identifying a preferred supplier to design a model that can be used for valuing aquaculture water-space. The development of a valuation model is one step in the process of Maori commercial aquaculture claim settlement. Legislation requires the Crown to use its best endeavours to have the settlement completed by 2014.

The model is expected to be completed by the end of 2007 for the Minister of Fisheries consideration.
