Ministry welcomes staff input
29 September 2004
The Ministry of Fisheries is encouraging its Compliance staff to participate in discussions with their unions on proposed changes to existing business unit arrangements, says National Compliance Manager, Dave Wood.
Mr Wood and Deputy Chief Executive, Stan Crothers have spent recent weeks travelling the country briefing staff on the proposals which aim to ensure better value for the significant investment made in fisheries law enforcement. The Ministry has encouraged staff to discuss the proposals and to provide written feedback which will be taken into account in further developing the proposals.
In addition PSA and NUPE representatives have been consulted and staff have been encouraged to discuss the proposals with them.
We are looking forward to a robust response from Compliance staff, said Mr Wood. Decisions on any changes to the organisation of the Compliance business unit are expected to be made in early November.
