Waikato-Tainui Waikato River Fisheries Accord
On 20 October 2008 Waikato-Tainui, the Minister of Fisheries and the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Fisheries signed a Fisheries Accord in relation to the Waikato River. The Fisheries Accord reflects the commitment of Waikato-Tainui, the Minister of Fisheries and the Ministry to enter a new era of co-management over the Waikato River, as agreed in the Deed of Settlement signed between the Crown and Waikato-Tainui in August 2008.
