“RE-STARTING AQUACULTURE” – CONSULTATION ON AQUACULTURE TECHNICAL ADVISORY GROUP REPORT
The Minister of Fisheries, Minister for the Environment and Minister for Economic Development have released the Aquaculture Technical Advisory Group (TAG) report and seek your views on the report’s proposals and any other proposals you have to enable aquaculture development.
Ministers established an independent technical advisory group in July 2009 to provide Government with recommendations to enable the development of sustainable aquaculture in New Zealand. The Government is committed to developing an effective and enabling regulatory regime for aquaculture, while recognising the environmental and public character of our marine areas, and the rights of iwi, fishers and other users of our coastal marine areas.
