Proposed Fisheries Services for 2007/08

Iwi and stakeholders are invited to comment on the fisheries services and research projects proposed for the 2007/08 financial year. The services are explained in the two documents below. There is also a context document that covers the development of the fisheries management framework and the use of objectives-based management. The deadline for written submissions is Thursday 15 February 2007. To find a specific research project, click on the species (eg aquatic environment) and then the individual project you wish to view.

Indicative 2007/08 Fisheries Services Cost Recovery Levies

The levies in this schedule are indicative and provided for comparative purposes only. All figures are based on the Departmental Output Expense figures provided in the draft services document released to stakeholders on 15 January 2007, including the draft 2007/08 observer and research plans.

It should be noted that the levies have been calculated using the same base information as the 1 April 2007 amending levy order, i.e. QMS fish stocks as at 1 April 2007, current TAC/TACCs and the port price surveyed in the 2005/06 fishing year.

The levies exclude adjustments for settlement sums remaining and prior year under and over recoveries. They are the un-adjusted cost allocations, provided to show the impact of services to be provided in 2007/08 on individual fish stocks.

Please note that the final 2007/08 cost recovery levies will change as the calculations are updated for the latest information.
