Review of Sustainability Measures
Each year the Ministry of Fisheries (MFish) undertakes a process to review the management measures for some of New Zealand’s fisheries. Below are the documents released for consultation on this issue in 2006.
Final Advice Paper
The MFish Final Advice Paper, dated 4 September 2006, was provided by MFish to the Minister of Fisheries in order that he could make decisions on catch limits and other management controls for the start of the 2006-07 fishing year on 1 October. In preparing the Final Advice Paper on earlier proposals, MFish analysed information on the status of the fisheries and their management settings, as well as the views of fishery interests who made submissions on the MFish Initial Position Paper dated 20 June 2006.
