2011 review of sustainability measures and deemed value rates for selected deepwater stocks

The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture recently made decisions on sustainability measures and management controls for deepwater species for the 2011/2012 fishing year. A copy of the Final Advice Paper and the submissions received on the Initial Position Paper can be found below. The Minister’s decision letter will be provided shortly.

Please note that an error was identified in the Recommendations section in the FAP for ORH2A, 2B and 3A (pages 72-74). The error does not affect the Minister’s decisions on the TAC or other allowances but incorrectly stated the sub-QMA catch limits for ORH2A North and South. The information contained in the Minister’s decision letter is correct and the Minister has reconfirmed the catch split in ORH2A in the attached corrected paper.
