Review of Sustainablity Measures for Southern Blue Whiting 6I (SBW 6I) - 1 April 2010
Between January and February 2010 the Ministry of Fisheries (MFish) consulted on sustainability measures for Southern Blue Whiting 6I (SBW 6I) for 1 April 2010.
A Final Advice Paper (see below) was provided to the Minister of Fisheries in March 2009, and the Minister has now made his decisions, which are contained in the attached decision letter.

In summary, the Minister has decided to:
- Increase the TAC for SBW 6I from 20,000 to 23,460 tonnes for the 2010-11 fishing year.
- Introduce an allowance for other sources of fishing related mortality of 460 tonnes; and
- Set a TACC for SBW 6I at 23,000 tonnes
