Final Advice Paper - 2010/11 In-Season Review of the Total Allowable Catch for the Coromandel Scallop Fishery

In July 2010, the Ministry of Fisheries consulted on a proposal to increase the catch limit for the Coromandel scallop fishery for the 2010-11 fishing year. The Minister has now made his decision, as outlined in the decision letter and based on the final advice paper (available for download below).

In summary, the Minister decided to increase the total allowable catch (TAC) for the 2010-11 fishing year, from 48 tonnes meat weight to 154 tonnes meat weight. The increase will take effect from the day following publication of the Gazette notice. The 2010-11 fishing season concludes on 31 March 2011 and at this time the TAC and allowances will revert back to baseline levels.
