Coromandel Scallops – In-Season TAC review for the 2009-10 scallop fishing year

In July 2009, the Ministry of Fisheries (MFish) consulted on proposals for the in-season review of the total allowable catch (TAC) for Coromandel Scallops (SCACS) and associated changes to annual catch entitlements (ACE) and non-commercial catch allowances.

A Final Advice Paper was provided to the Minister in August 2009. The Minister has now made his decisions, which are explained in his decision letter that is available for download below.

  3. the allowance for other sources of fishing-related mortality is set at 35 tonnes meatweight; and
  4. the annual catch entitlement (ACE) for quota owners is set at 100 tonnes meatweight.
