In December 2007 the Ministry of Fisheries notified the availability of an independent report by Aranovus Ltd, entitled “A Socio-economic Impact Assessment of Fishers: Proposed Options to Mitigate Fishing Threats to Hector’s and Maui’s Dolphins”. The report investigated social and economic costs of measures proposed in the draft Hector’s and Maui’s dolphin Threat Management Plan (TMP).

The Ministry invited views on the Aranovus report, including the methodology, analysis, and interpretation.
