Amendment regulations for Hector’s and Maui’s dolphin fisheries measures
On 25 August 2008 Cabinet approved the regulations to introduce a mix of fishing prohibitions and other restrictions on set net fishing, trawling, and drift net fishing to avoid, remedy, and mitigate the effects of fishing-related mortality on Hector’s and Maui’s dolphins. These regulations are due to come into force on 1 October 2008.
